2.17-2.23.2026: Supercharged new beginnings
If you follow Astrology at all, I’m sure you’ve heard by now that today’s New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Aquarius is kind of a big deal. I talked a bit about it in last week’s collective reading, as we received two cards deeply tied to this Astrological moment. This week, we once again see a nod to the Astrology with The Sun (Solar Eclipse much?) and the Page of Swords—one of the cards that presides over the third decan of Aquarius where the New Moon is happening now.
I normally see New Moons as gentle resets, the darkness of the Moon representing the rich soil ready for us to plant our seeds of intention within. This New Moon, however, is next level. It kicks off the Chinese/Lunar New Year, ushers in the Year of the Fire Horse, and serves as a threshold into a new way of being. The addition of the Solar Eclipse provides some electrified fertilizer to the mix. The seeds we plant under this energy have the potential to grow rapidly and deliver us to startling new heights, not unlike Jack’s unwieldy beanstalk. So it’s more important than ever to plant those magic seeds with intentionality.
Today’s question for the Tarot is “What seeds of intention are we planting now and what will help them grow?”
Our seeds? The Page of Swords. This Page is wise beyond their years but tentative by nature. We see a young person wielding their sword with hesitation, not having yet gained the courage and decisiveness seen in the Knight, Queen, and King of Swords. The message here is to start before you’re ready. You don’t have to have a perfectly polished message in order to speak from the heart. Your voice matters and your point of view is important, even if you’re not an “expert” yet. And this isn’t a fake-it-til-you-make-it situation. It’s totally okay to be upfront and transparent about your shortcomings. You can own up to what you do and do not know, and deliver your message anyway. You can ask questions and continue to seek knowledge and understanding even as you take action towards your vision for the future. No one has it all figured out. Don’t let that stop you from speaking your piece.
Our fuel? The Sun. Sometimes the Tarot is so literal. Because of course seeds need sunlight to grow! And as I mentioned, the Solar Eclipse is supercharging the “new beginnings” energy. But I want to take this analogy a step further. The Sun encourages you to shed light on your intentions, to boldly share them aloud, rather than keeping them to yourself. It also bolsters you with the optimism and confidence to pursue whatever it is you seek with joy. In her book The Inner Tarot, one of my favorite Tarot writers, Kate Van Horn, grants us this affirmation for The Sun: “I attract the most success when I let joy lead me.”
