Have you heard? We’re about to enter a portal… 🌀🚪

Actually, we’re kind of already in it! That’s right, folks. The magical day of abundance, *8/8 Lion’s Gate, is just days away and the energy is already getting… swirly. The more cynical among us might be rolling their eyes right now, but since you’re reading a Tarot blog, I’m willing to bet you’re at least a little on the woo-woo side.

*As a person with my head in the clouds (Gemini Moon) and two feet on the ground (Taurus Sun), I appreciated the “practical magic” perspective in this Farmers’ Almanac description, which includes both the science behind the Astronomy and the spiritual belief in the Astrology/Numerology.

Whether 8/8 is of spiritual importance to you—or just another Saturday—this week’s message for the collective centers around the question “Which Tarot Teacher is guiding us through the Lion’s Gate portal?”

I was expecting to get something fiery and frenetic like the Eight of Wands, or something Leonian like Strength (VIII), but what I received instead was maybe more welcome at this time—the restful messenger: the Four of Pencils (Swords).

I dunno about you, but when I know something big is happening with the Astrology, my instinct is always to want to take action of some sort: manifest, set intentions, pull cards, do a ritual, at the very least journal about it. And if I’m being honest, most of the time I don’t end up making the time or space to do those things. At least not during this busy season of life with young kids and responsibilities pulling me in so many different directions. And to continue my confession, a pang of guilt often accompanies that lack of action. I feel like I *should* be doing those things, especially if I’m going to go around calling myself the “spiritual” component of Wise Womxn Wellness’s “Mind-Body-Spirit” mission.

The suit of Swords is associated with air energy, and thus connects with the mind, our thoughts, our words, our intellectual side. Many of the cards in this suit show action, conflict, movement, communication.

But the Four of Swords has a different message. The Four of Swords whispers:

Rest
Pause
Stabilize
Surrender
Don't force it
Stop ‘should-ing’ all over yourself

This week, the Four of Swords invites us to set down our thoughts, words, and actions, if only for a time—and JUST BE. It gives us permission to experience the energy of the Lion’s Gate portal without having to wrap our minds around any specific lessons or messages just yet. The “downloads” will come in time. We don’t have to intellectualize or fully understand the big picture right now. We are allowed to rest—and will likely be better-positioned to receive what we are meant to receive if we allow ourselves the space and time.

⚔️How will you set down your Swords this week? ⚔️
