7.28-8.3.2026: Less Me, More We

Pro tip: screenshot this photo and set it as your background image to keep the message fresh in your mind all week.✨

If you’re an astro-nerd like me, you are probably already aware that on July 26th, the lunar nodes shifted into a new pair of signs, where they will remain for the next year and a half or so. But for those of you who are saying “lunar what?” I’ll give a quick *run-down of WTH I’m talking about…

The lunar nodes represent two points where the Moon’s orbital path crosses the ecliptic (the plane of the earth’s orbit around the Sun). As theoretical points in space, the North and South Nodes are always exactly opposite each other. Therefore, lunar nodes connect opposite signs in your chart, and their topics will feed into your soul’s development across your lifetime.

While the nodes are points in space and not planets, they are given astrological significance. In fact some astrologies focus on them almost completely.

The North Node is known as a place of insatiable hunger and questing into the unknown. It is now in analytical, rebellious Aquarius—the sign of community. The South Node is known as a place of release and letting go. It is now in bold, courageous Leo—the sign of the self

*Borrowing heavily from Chani Nicholas’s Astro 101 guide for this definition. I highly recommend perusing her work if you are interested in learning more about Astrology!

TL;DR: The energy is shifting, babes! For the forseeable future, think less “me” and more “we.”

With this energy shift in mind, I decided to ask the cards “What will assist us in embracing community?” and “What will assist us in stepping away from ego?”

The Two of Wands has us stepping consciously and courageously out of our comfort zones into new territory (I see you, North Node!). It’s up to us to make the decision: will I stay right here where everything is comfy and familiar, or will I seek something new and perhaps a little intimidating? Beginning the Two of Wands journey requires vulnerability—as does making new friends, building community, shifting your mindset, expanding your reach. You can’t just wish and hope it will happen, all the while staying put. You have to quite literally put yourself out there and take a few risks. You have to climb the “cringe mountain” (as one of my favorite style influencers @chelseagettingdressed would say). Because what’s on the other side is so much more beautiful and brilliant than what’s over here in your vanilla-flavored, beige-colored Comfort Zone box (no shade to vanilla or beige. They have their place!).

If I had to guess, the mountain goat imagery chosen for this version of The Devil is a nod to the card’s Astrological ruler, Capricorn, which is represented by the mythical Sea-Goat (half goat, half fish). The goat half represents the earth-bound mountain goat—ambitious, practical, disciplined, and hardworking, striving to reach the highest peaks. I dunno about Sea-Goats, but mountain goats tend to be solitary animals. The Devil wants to keep us held in solitary confinement, bound to our creature comforts, mindless pleasures, and pathological productivity. If you look very closely at the photo above, you’ll notice the bush in the background has some pollinator visitors. 🐝 I didn’t think of this analogy until after I took the photo, but the Mountain Goat vs Honey Bee connection is worth mentioning. Both creatures work hard to accomplish  lofty goals. One climbs a mountain all alone, while the other works as one small part of a larger crew to sustain food production and promote biodiversity. The mountain goat’s sole objective is making it to the top of that mountain, come Hell or high water—no matter who it has to trample on the way there (maybe I’m not giving mountain goats enough credit, but for the sake of this analogy, they’re selfish 😅). A honey bee, on the other hand, is concerned with the survival and reproduction of its entire colony, rather than just its own individual life. Every bee works together as part of a “superorganism.” Each bee has a specific role—worker, drone, queen—and each bee works hard within that individual role for the greater good of the whole. You don’t have to be a hero. No one’s asking you to single-handedly solve world hunger or end a genocide or stop a war. But we all have important roles to play in order to move towards collective healing and thriving. Be a Honey Bee (more “we”), not a Mountain Goat (less “me”).

Take a good hard look at your choices, your habits, your addictions (mild as they may seem). Ask yourself: who or what is profiting from my singular attention and who or what is suffering from the effects of the converse—my withdrawal and apathy? How might I disengage from the situations/people/habits/actions (or inactions) that have an unhealthy grip on me in order to apply my efforts to the betterment of the collective?

Will you be a Mountain Goat 🐐 or a Honey Bee? 🐝
