3.24-3.30.2026: Spring Has Sprung
Spring has officially sprung (Minnesota-style). We leapt forward an hour, experienced a blizzard followed shortly thereafter by a 70 degree day, Aries Season began, and the ladies of Wise Womxn Wellness ushered in the Spring Equinox with our Annual Wise Womxn retreat. Things are beginning to thaw and come out of hibernation, both literally and metaphorically. We are dusting things off, decluttering, and beginning the process of planting new seeds. Can you feel it? So with Spring on my mind, this week’s collective reading honors this seasonal shift.
Thawing Out with the Three of Wands
Whether or not we choose to heed the call of Nature’s Wintering way, we know that Winter is a natural time to rest, to slow down, to curl up and turn inward. But as the ground thaws and the snow begins to melt, we see glimpses of green grass and the beginnings of buds on the trees. We notice longer stretches of daylight and hear the birds singing. Just like Mother Nature, you may also find yourself beginning to come out of your shell a bit more.
The Three of Wands show us assessing the landscape before us, perhaps beginning to make plans for the warmer months ahead. Plotting out vegetable gardens or Spring Break trips, Summer camps, or movement goals. These can all be wonderful ways to welcome the season and you are encouraged to do so. However, the warning here is to not get too bogged down or overwhelmed with those plans. Try to avoid making grand, sweeping proclamations about your intentions. Don’t bite off more than you can chew. When you fail to break lofty projects or goals down into smaller, bite-sized pieces you risk choking on the big picture.
Planting Seeds with The Empress (III)
If I had to choose one Tarot card to represent the embodiment of Spring, I would choose The Empress. I had a feeling she might grace us with her presence for this spread! Representative of Mother Earth herself, The Empress’s throne sits amidst a flourishing backdrop of greenery, flowers, and trees. Ruled by Venus, she epitomizes Divine Femininity and gravitates towards all that’s beautiful and abundant. She brings a grounding energy, inviting us back into our bodies and encouraging us to rediscover the sensations that bring joy, that remind us of our ALIVENESS.
We hear a lot in the spiritual community about “planting seeds” of intention. Each month provides a fresh opportunity to manifest with the New Moon—the darkness of the Moon representing the rich soil in which our metaphorical seeds can be planted. The Empress is here to remind us to nurture that which we plant. Although it is true that the hardiest of weeds and wildflowers can blossom with little to no attention, we know that most plants do better when tended to regularly. The same goes for the metaphorical seeds we plant. I’m sorry to say, we can’t just wish our way into a better world or a better life. This isn’t a “set it and forget it” moment. Manifestation is an act which requires some effort. We must move beyond intention into action. Those seeds need watering and sunlight in order to grow! Keep that in mind as you begin to sow yours.
Spring Cleaning with the Seven of Wands
Last week, I did a whole Spring Cleaning-themed Tarot spread, featuring the prompts KEEP, DONATE, and TOSS. This week, the Seven of Wands has a little tough-love guidance for us in this endeavor: Stop assuming everyone’s out to get you.
Yes, the world can feel like an evil place—especially under the current regime. I don’t have to start listing the horrors we’ve all been second- or first-hand witness to. These first few months of 2026 have left many of us very on edge (myself included) and for good reason. But we cannot allow the baddies to turn us against one another. That’s exactly what they want. They want to keep us afraid and isolated. Suspicious of our neighbor. Always on the defensive.
It’s time to do away with that line of thinking.
Yes, there are bad people in this world. In our communities, even. But I really do have to believe that there are more good people than bad.
I am reminded of a poem from A Bit Much, a book of poetry by Lyndsay Rush—who you might recognize on Instagram as @maryoliversdrunkcousin. Reading it gave me so much hope, I screenshotted it and turned it into my phone background. When it feels as though an enemy is around every corner, I revisit this poem to restore my faith in humanity. The title of the poem is the headline of an NPR article from March 14, 2023, and it goes like this:
