Making those big life decisions
During a recent professional talk on mental wellness, I was asked about tools that can be useful for women to implement when trying to get clarity on a big life decision. My answer? “Walking.” I went on to share the science behind why walking is so effective—walking provides our brains with bi-lateral stimulation which helps make connections between right and left brain. Our right brain is more responsible for emotions/creativity and left brain is responsible for logic/language. When we can improve the communication between both hemispheres of the brain it helps us better regulate our emotions, reduces stress, and make decisions. This is why we often find ourselves pacing when we’re stressed—our brains are trying to find calm and resolution. Walking helps you slow down, tune into yourself, and makes room for your intuition to have a voice, which is essential in coming to a decision you feel solid on.
