7.21-7.27.2026: Rose-colored glasses
The Knight of Cups always calls to mind the phrase “rose-colored glasses.” Picture a sexy, swanky dude who speaks poetically, promises you the world, whispers sweet nothings, and hypnotizes you with his swagger. The shiny side of his presence is that he teaches us how to romanticize the mundane in life. But be mindful not to let your guard allllll the way down, because the shadow side is the cold reality that sometimes things really are too good to be true. So this week, you are encouraged to apply a healthy dose of both Delusion and Discernment to your thought process. With that in mind, I was inspired to ask the cards “Where are we empowered to see life through rose-colored glasses and where are we better off staying more grounded in reality?”
The Emperor says “feel free to be delightfully delulu when it comes to re-envisioning what leadership can look like in your life and in the systems and structures you live within.” Go ahead and throw those rose-colored glasses on to assist you in wildly reimagining what life might look like under the leadership of someone who knows that softness IS strength and that we all do better when WE ALL do better. When we dare to envision our wildest, most beautiful dreams (far-fetched as they may seem under the current circumstances), we give our hope something to cling to. On July 26th, the North Node of destiny moves into Aquarius (the sign of community), while the South Node enters Leo. As Chani Nicholas succinctly phrased it in her weekly newsletter,
“For the next 18 months, altruism is in and egocentrism is out.”
What if we didn’t have to wait for the systems to catch up? What if we started living the dream right now, if only in the smallest of ways? What if we “microdosed the matriarchy” (a Madi Murphy-ism), right here right now? What if YOU became the leader you’re imagining? #matriarchynow
And for our final card—Wait a second… Could it be? The Tower—AGAIN? That’s right, you’re not imagining it. I received the Tower a few weeks ago and here it is again rearing its so-ugly-it’s-beautiful head. And I pulled it twice in individual readings today as well. If it wasn’t clear before, it’s crystal clear now: we are entering a Tower moment, my friends. A something’s-gotta-give moment. A time when systems and structures begin to crumble (think global pandemic vibes). Life as we know it may never be the same. But sometimes that’s for the best (though it can be hard to see it that way as things unfold). Once the dust settles, it will be up to us to decide if and how we rebuild again. This is where rose-colored glasses can only take us so far. When the walls come tumbling down around us, it’s important to stay rooted in reality in order to avoid tumbling right along with them. Let your hope cling to a beautiful vision of the future while you cling to something solid right here in the present moment.
