This week finds us closing out creative, fiery Leo season and entering the sign of the Earth witch: Virgo.
I used the word “creative” to describe Leo season, but if the past few weeks have felt less like an experiment in creativity and more like an exorcism of the soul, you are not alone. That’s likely in part thanks to some major planetary transits, including the shifting of the lunar nodes and the Eclipse portal we are currently in—on top of, you know, all the shit constantly going down in our country and world, in addition to all the everyday stressors and #firstworldproblems.
So let’s pause and do a lil’ vibe check, shall we? Today I asked the cards:
“What does the energy hold as we close out one Astrological season and transition into the next?”
This week’s Tarot Teacher is the King of Pentacles (shown as Diamonds in this Playdate with the Universe deck). The image on the card is representative of fellow Earth sign Taurus’s bull—Pentacles are associated with Earth energy, after all. The King of Pentacles invites grounding. Sturdiness. Building from a strong foundation.
So whether your Leo Season has been chaotic, generative, or a little bit of both, the goal now is to move from Ideating to Editing. Whatever ideas, downloads, uplevels, or breakdowns you experienced in Leo season will now be filtered through Virgo’s discerning eye. Unlike Leo’s “more is more” philosophy, Virgo (like the King of Pentacles) is concerned with practical magic. Virgo and the King of Pentacles ask:
What is realistic? What is sustainable? Which of these things is absolutely essential to the long-term vision and which can I set down and come back to later—or let go of altogether?
This doesn’t mean you have to have it all figured out right this second. In fact, it’s actually better to let things marinate a bit this week before diving into the nitty-gritty. That part comes later. This week, think Integration over Implementation. Slow and steady wins this race.
