Happy Fall, y’all! 9/22 marks the Autumnal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere—one of only two times in the year where we experience equal parts dark and light, day and night. And so it’s fitting that we also kick off Libra Season today—the sign of balance and harmony.
Another thing Librans are stereotypically known for is indecisiveness—a trait most likely due to their innate ability to “see both sides” (So maybe instead of “wishy-washy,” we can start describing our Libra friends as “diplomatic,” yeah?). But at some point, we do need to make a decision.
And this moment does feel like a choice point—both Astrologically and seasonally. We’ve made it about three quarters of the way through the calendar year, so the things you set into motion at the beginning of the year have likely either taken hold by now or have fully dropped off your radar. Now is a great time to check in with ourselves and our goals, as the wheel of the year turns and the energy begins its gradual shift into the darker months. Saturday’s Full Moon in Aries aligns with the Two of Wands, a card that is very much “should I stay or should I go” energy. So I asked the cards:
“What will help us be decisive through those inevitable choice points?”
And I received: the Page of Cups and the Magician

It may not always feel like it, but you have so many tools at your disposal. And your emotional, sensitive, creative heart is one of them. The traditional Smith-Rider-Waite deck depicts the Magician standing in front of a table, confidently pointing a magic wand up to the heavens and their finger down to the Earth (as above, so below). The infinity sign hovers above their head and all the tools of the Tarot are spread out before them—Pentacles, Cups, Swords, and Wands—suggesting that your intellect, creativity, passion, and practical skills are infinitely at your disposal. If all this manifestation talk sounds familiar, it’s because I just pulled The Magician a few weeks ago and talked about its connection to the Number One Year we are currently in. The Magician is not done with us yet! And though it might feel like it’s seasonally winding down, neither is this year.
The Page of Cups invites us to get reflective. Think back on those intentions you may have set with the Winter Solstice or the New Year or the New Moon in Aries on April 17th. Which ones still fit? Which ones have you outgrown or forgotten about? Maybe you’ve checked that goal off the list already or maybe it’s something you’ll need to revisit over and over again. If that is the case, this is an opportunity to do just that. It’s not too late to make progress on those intentions or to at least start moving in the right direction. The Magician supports us in taking that inspired action. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it doesn’t have to be pretty, but it does require some action. Because intention without action is just… a wish.
Sometimes we forget about or actively dismiss the qualities represented by the Cups: our heart, our ability to feel emotions, our sensitive nature, our instinct to nurture, our empathy, our intuition, our creativity. These things are often referred to as “soft” skills—but spoiler alert: Those “soft” skills are actually your superpower. Like I wrote about a few weeks ago, Softness is Strength.
In this week’s CosmicRx Weekly Energy Report, Astrologer Madi Murphy says “if the past month (has) felt ungrounded or weirdly emotional, that tracks. Mars spent six weeks in Cancer stirring up feelings around family, safety, and everything you’ve been protecting. Give yourself some grace, then pick one small thing to put back in order, because that’s usually how the momentum restarts. The questions being asked this week are pretty simple. Who are you stepping into? What does she actually want? And can you be the one who decides you’re ready to go get it?”
