4.7-4.13.2026: You are the Magic
This week, the energy is ripe for opportunity (Ace of Cups) and manifestation (The Magician), but it’s what you DO with that opportunity that counts. As I wrote in the collective reading a couple weeks ago, “Manifestation is an act which requires some effort. We must move beyond intention into action.” This week, we are once again reminded that WE MUST BE ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS in creating the lives we want to live.
As I was mulling over the message from this week’s cards, I opened the latest CosmicRx Weekly Energy Report from badass feminist Astrologer Madi Murphy, entitled “The “Good Girl” Era Is Over, All Gas No Brakes, Now Go Do It 🪐 April 6-12 Astrology Forecast.” And I realized: this is it! This is the message. It’s amazing how Tarot and Astrology so often mirror each other. So instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, I’ll let Madi’s words speak for themselves (the bolded words are my own):
“We are officially in go mode: all gas, no brakes. But not in a chaotic way, in a very intentional, “you know exactly what you need to do, so why are you still hesitating” kind of way (Queen of Swords). Because let’s be honest, you already know what needs to change. You know what you’ve outgrown and you know the move you’ve been rehearsing in your head over and over again. The only thing that’s been missing is you actually doing something about it. And that’s where this week comes in.
This is initiation energy (Magician). The energy right now is not for overthinking or waiting for the perfect moment. You don’t think your way into the next version of your life, you act your way into it. So if you’re telling yourself that you’re still waiting on clarity (Queen of Swords), you might just be avoiding action. But before you start spiraling, let’s get grounded in the fact that this isn’t about doing everything at once or blowing up your entire life overnight. It’s about picking a direction and committing to it (Queen of Swords). It’s about taking that one bold (and slightly uncomfortable) step and letting that build momentum.
There’s a lot of fire in the sky, a lot of urgency, a lot of let’s go let’s go let’s go. But the goal is to move through it with intention. To be bold and self aware at the same time. So if you’ve been waiting for a sign, girl, this is it! You’re not becoming someone new this week, you’re proving to yourself that you already are.
On April 9th, Mars moves into Aries, and this is the shift that takes everything you’ve been thinking about and turns it into action. Mars is at home here, which means the energy is strong, direct, and decisive. It’s saying start the thing, launch the idea, say what you mean, or make the decision you’ve been circling (Queen of Swords). The reassuring part is that it doesn’t have to look perfect. The vibe is very much “figure it out as you go,” with the idea that confidence is being built in real time, instead of waiting around for it to magically appear (Magician).
At the same time, there is a lot of fire in the sky right now. Literally Aries on Aries on Aries. Which is great for momentum, but it can also come with impatience, short tempers, and a tendency to act first and think later (Queen of Swords). So the move here is not to slow yourself down, but to stay aware of when you’re moving too fast. Find the balance between bold and reckless. How to take up space without bulldozing people in the process. There’s a difference between being self-led and being self-centered, and this week will make that very clear.
This is also the part of the story where we start shedding that “good girl” conditioning. The version of you that stays quiet, keeps the peace, and makes herself smaller so everyone else stays comfortable. That version doesn’t last long in this kind of energy. And no, this isn’t about swinging to the other extreme and becoming harsh, defensive, or completely disconnected. It’s about finding that middle ground. Bad b*tch energy (Queen of Swords) with a good heart (Ace of Cups). You get to go after what you want (Magician). You get to say the thing (Queen of Swords). You get to take up space and make moves that feel aligned for you. And you also stay grounded, emotionally aware (Ace of Cups), and responsible for how you show up. You’re the girl who gets to have her cake and eat it too, you just have to start acting like it.
This month is asking for a shift in identity, not just behavior. You’re not here to think about the life you want anymore, you’re here to start living like it’s already yours. You don’t need more time, you need to move.”

Just this week, I started working with a new HypnoBirthing® couple. In Class 1 we talk about “How Message Units Become Imprints,” which is nerd-speak for a much more woo-woo sounding term: MANIFESTATION. Manifestation is the word that comes to mind when I pull The Magician. The Magician represents an initiation, a call to empowerment, a reminder that you have so many tools at your disposal to make shit happen. You have it WITHIN you. You ARE the magic. And it all starts with the words we use—including the ones we utter aloud as well as those we say silently in our own minds.
WORDS > SUGGESTIONS > FEELINGS / BELIEFS / ATTITUDES > BEHAVIOR > OUTCOME
The words we use provide suggestions to our brains, which result in feelings, beliefs, and attitudes, which affect our behavior and ultimately impact the outcome.
To put it plainly, words are powerful.
In HypnoBirthing® we talk a lot about the power of our mind and the mind-body connection, and it all starts with the language we use. When applied to birth preparation, that means we intentionally swap painful-sounding, constrictive words like “contractions” with something more empowering and expansive like “waves” or “surges.” Or choosing to focus on “comfort levels” rather than “pain scales.” But making intentional choices about our language isn’t limited to the birth world. Brené Brown talks about the power of language in her book Atlas of the Heart. She says “Language matters. It’s the raw material of story, it changes how we feel about ourselves and others, and it’s a portal to connection. With the same amount of power, language can also be used to strip people of their dignity and humanity. With awareness about how dehumanization works, comes the responsibility to call out dangerous language when we recognize it.”
Enter The Queen of Swords. Because she doesn’t mince words. She’s here this week to tell us it’s time to get really intentional about the words we use—the messages we ourselves put out into the Universe as well as those we consume and allow into our lives. So whether they be nuclear threats tweeted by an unhinged president, or our own inner critic telling us we don’t deserve our dreams, it’s time to call out dangerous language when we encounter it. The Queen doesn’t put up with bullshit. And neither do we anymore.
