Making space
One of my favorite things about Walk + Talk Therapy is the extra space it provides. Literal space... yes—as most of the time our sessions are outside. There is something about having an entire trail, path, road ahead of you that provides a feeling of possibility and promise.
While the physical space is definitely a factor in the equation, the space I'm most referring to is the invisible space. The space that's created in conversations naturally when you add movement and might need to slow down to catch your breath or tie your shoe. The space that occurs between two people who are walking side by side rather than sitting in front of one another. Space to gaze off into the distance and gather your thoughts. Space for introspection. Space for silence when it's needed. Space for deep listening—to yourself, your therapist, and the world around you.
Time and space are one of the best gifts you can give yourself, and the people in your world. If you're ready to carve some out, reach out—I'm ready for you!
